The format

Four holes.
Sixteen chances.

A simple game to learn—and a score you’ll want to beat.

The essentials

01

Set the course

The game uses four holes on a practice green. Follow the organizer’s marked starting positions and hole order.

02

Play four rounds

Complete all four holes, then repeat the course until you have played four rounds: sixteen holes in total.

03

Count every stroke

Every hole is par two. Record your strokes on each hole and add all four rounds. Lowest total wins.

The number to remember: 32.

16 holes × par 2 = total par 32. A score of 30 is two under par; 34 is two over. Confirm event-specific procedures, ties, and any divisions with the organizer before play.

Your first round

Keep it simple.
Keep it moving.

Before you start

Confirm the starting points, order of play, scorekeeping procedure, and how ties are resolved. Ask what equipment is provided and what you should bring.

On the green

Give other players room, avoid stepping on their putting lines, and wait until they finish before moving or talking nearby. Record scores while the hole is fresh in your mind.

After the round

Check your arithmetic and follow the organizer’s process for reporting scores. Pick one thing you did well and one thing to work on next time.
